It is the characteristic of our community newspaper that it serves information needs. It's defined by the community’s members with a shared sense of belonging. Ilkeston Life is published monthly.

Ilkeston Life Community Newspaper began in Ilkeston on September 1, 2015, with the publication of Ilkeston Life by Paul Opiah and Robert Attewell.

Positive Futures Supported Housing CIC

Positive Futures Supported Housing is a small, young and niche business operating in Derbyshire and Greater Manchester. We are an enthusiastic and passionate team who strive to make a real difference to our clients’ lives, many of whom have become vulnerable and affected by significant mental health challenges. These are typically associated with homelessness and drug addiction but also economic pressures (e.g. cost of living).

We work with local authorities, landlords and other stakeholders to find quality and safe homes for our clients and to support them in rebuilding their lives. We currently operate around 30 properties.

Our ambition is to increase our supply of highly refurbished homes to the most vulnerable people in our communities, creating safe environments and opportunities for them to rebuild their lives. We are looking to increase our housing provision to around 250 homes by 2025. To help achieve this ambitious growth target, we are developing our strategic planning, governance, risk management and compliance arrangements. Maggie Throup MP – Member of Parliament for Erewash

Due to a continued increase in casework, I am looking for an additional member of staff at my constituency office in Ilkeston. You should be a hardworking and motivated individual with the ability to fit into a small team. The role is full-time (5 days per week) and office based, but part-time may be considered for the right candidate.

The successful candidate would be proactive, with strong communication, IT, and organisational skills. The role also requires a flexible attitude and the ability to manage constituency casework, correspondence and projects.
