Autism East Midlands Mundy Street Day Centre welcome MP Maggie Throup for a visit to their Autism specific day services, held at the Mundy Street centre in Heanor, Derbyshire.
The Mundy Street day services offer a wide range of structured activities based on individual requirements and interests. All our activities specifically focus on developing communication skills, social integration, confidence and independence. Having heard about the services delivered by Autism East Midlands Member of Parliament for Erewash Maggie Throup expressed an interest in visiting the day service and find out more.
Last Friday 17th March 2017 an official visit was coordinated with the management, support workers and services users at Mundy Street on hand to give MP Maggie Throup a guided tour.
Paul Harrison, service manager for Heanor who took the lead on Maggie’s tour around Mundy Street, adds:
“It was an absolute delight to have Maggie here at Mundy Street and meet our service users as well as discuss current issues and raise awareness of autism in the local community.”
Maggie Throup said:
“I was really impressed by the wide range of services and support that Autism East Midlands provide at this site and others throughout the region. The dedication and commitment of the staff was so obvious to me and I could see for myself just how much the service users were enjoying their time at the centre.”
