Cold weather payments across Erewash have been triggered due to the persistent cold weather. £25 will be paid to eligible residents for the period 24th February to 2nd March as the weather has been recorded at zero degrees or below for seven consecutive days.
Maggie Throup, Member of Parliament for Erewash said:
“I have been informed that cold weather payments for certain residents on Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, income-related Employment and Support Allowance, Universal Credit or Pension Credit has kicked in.
“This payment of £25 is made from the Social Fund and is aimed at helping ensure our more vulnerable residents are able to keep warm during extreme weather conditions. Those eligible will not have to apply for the payment as it will be paid automatically.”
