Following the success of last year’s Halloween Safety Card Campaign, Erewash MP Maggie Throup will again be distributing the popular window card for local residents to display this Halloween.
Speaking about the campaign Maggie said:
“Last year the Halloween Safety Cards that I produced proved really popular with local residents.
“As we all know Halloween can be a great deal of fun, but for some, especially those who are elderly or vulnerable and who do not like opening their doors after dark, it can be a really distressing time of year.
“That is why I am again distributing the Safety Cards, which people can put up in their window to politely ask trick or treaters not to call at their house.
“The idea is not to stop people having fun, it is simply to give Erewash residents a choice on whether they want to take part or not.”
Maggie and her team will be out and about in both Market Places over the coming weeks handing out the Halloween Safety Card. She will also be placing them in local businesses for residents to pick up.
You can also claim your free Safety Card by contact Maggie’s community office on either 0115 9722 419 or maggie@maggiethroup.com.
