Prospective MP Maggie Throup recently met with Bombardier Apprentices to find out how apprenticeship schemes are helping more people into work and at the same time continue their learning.
Maggie said: “Over the last four years, in Erewash alone, 4090 people have started an apprenticeship, giving them the chance to earn a salary and gain a qualification whilst gaining valuable workplace skills and experience.
“This is why I was delighted to hear The Prime Minister announce at the Conservative Conference funding for a further 3 million apprenticeships as part of a £300 million investment in creating a better, more secure future for our next generation.
“At a time when Britain is making things again, this is really good news, ensure our workforce both locally here in Erewash and nationally gets the skills needed to continue our manufacturing revival.”
