Business owners from across Erewash were updated on Government policy which is helping to cut red tape and stimulate enterprise and exports.
Speaking at a business lunch, Rt Hon Ken Clarke, Member of Parliament for nearby Rushcliffe and trade, enterprise and export ambassador for the Prime Minister, explained how new legislation he is driving through Parliament will remove unnecessary and excessive regulation making it easier to do business.
Mr Clarke also described how he is helping local businesses to export by breaking down trade barriers with the US, India and China.
Maggie Throup, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Erewash said: “It was really good for our local businesses to hear first hand how the Government is helping to boost jobs and growth by cutting red tape and breaking down barriers to trade.
“This is just what we need to ensure every business benefits from the economic recovery we are now seeing across Erewash.”
