Maggie Throup OBE MP, Member of Parliament for Erewash welcomes the news that Derby and Derbyshire ICS will receive £449,247.00 this month, as its first tranche of funding, to support innovation and scaling in adult social care.
Derby and Derbyshire ICS will use this funding to co-produce a more inclusive approach to identify and support carers. The funding will improve the early identification of carers during hospital admission and discharge and offer robust post discharge support. It will also co-produce an online carers assessment and support plan tool.

Unpaid carers play a vital role across Erewash and the fund places them at the heart of the ongoing adult social care reform agenda. The funding will develop innovations and digital tools focused on identifying and supporting unpaid carers.
I know that this funding will have a positive impact on unpaid carers across Erewash allowing them to be recognised for their invaluable contribution to society.”
The second tranche of the funding, £22.6 million, will be allocated in 2024/2025.
