Erewash MP, Maggie Throup is set to host her first virtual Jobs Fair this summer, linking up local jobseekers with some of the region’s biggest employers.
The interactive fair, which has been sponsored by Jobcentre Plus, will go live between 10am and 1pm on Wednesday 11th August 2021 and will showcase job opportunities at firms including Amazon, UPS and Buy It Direct.
Speaking about the virtual fair and her mission to build back better, Maggie said:
“As we begin to emerge from the pandemic, I wanted to hold a practical event to help people get back into work and secure a better future for themselves and their families.
“Residents logging onto the fair will get the chance to ‘meet’ potential new employers, as well as hear from the National Careers Service about the support available to either retrain or formalise existing skills in the form of professional qualifications – all from the comfort of their own home.
“I very much hope that as many people as possible will join us on the day and want to take this opportunity to thank Jobcentre Plus for both sponsoring the event and securing a fantastic range of quality job opportunities.”
