Hopeful today’s medal haul is just the start and I am very much looking forward continuing to cheer on Team GB as the action continues.
“We are extremely fortunate to have a two amazing swimming clubs in both Ilkeston and Long Eaton, and I hope the excitement of the Olympics will provide the motivation for residents to be #InspiredToTry any of the fantastic sports of swimming, para swimming, diving, water polo, open water swimming or artistic swimming.”
To find your local club, residents can visit Swim England’s website at discover.swimming.org and use their dedicated ‘club finding’ tool.
“Who knows, the next Adam Peaty, Ellie Simmonds or Alice Dearing could start their Olympic journey in a pool here in Erewash! But even if we don’t unearth the next Olympic champion, the joy and health benefits of swimming and being part of a club is more than worth it on its own.”
