Having had the immense privilege of serving as the Member of Parliament for Erewash for the last eight and a half years, which is reward in itself, I am both thrilled and humbled to receive an OBE in the New Years Honours List.
My immediate thoughts turn to my late parents who would be so very proud, as well as my family, friends and the many other people who have supported me over the years, without whom none of this would have been possible.
