For over a year, I have campaigned tirelessly for the permanent closure of the two migrant hotels on Bostocks Lane.
On Monday afternoon, during the first Home Office questions of 2024, I raised Erewash’s case directly with the new Minister for Legal Migration and the Border, Tom Pursglove MP.
I asked the Minister whether he could finally close the temporary migrant accommodation centres on Bostocks Lane, and if the Home Office could work with the Department for Levelling up to ensure that the ‘local links’ rule, relating to social housing, is amended to prevent Erewash from being disproportionately burdened by new applications from those granted asylum.
