Maggie Throup recently helped to organise a major fund raising event for Marie Curie. The Jazz Evening, with JC & the Jive was a great success and raised over £2000.00 for a new hospice.
Maggie said: "I'm sure we all know someone who, sadly, has needed to use the services of Marie Curie Hospices. When we heard that it needed to raise £7million to build a much needed new hospice, local Conservatives decided to do 'their bit' and raise some money.
"We decided that a jazz evening would be something different and it was a great success. Dancing along to live music provided by the young group JC & the Jive was a fun way to raise money.
"Local businesses and residents were very generous in their support for the evening ensuring we raised over £2000.00"
