Maggie Throup, Member of Parliament for Erewash has welcomed the Government’s new Back to Work Plan, helping people across Erewash to stay healthy, get off benefits, and look for and stay in work.
On Monday I took part in the King’s Speech debate titled Building an NHS Fit for the Future. The Debate on the King’s Speech is held over several days in both Houses at the start of a new session of Parliament.
On behalf of Erewash residents, it was a privilege to place a Remembrance cross in Parliament's Constituency Garden of Remembrance to honour those who paid the ultimate sacrifice to defend and protect our freedoms.
Over the weekend I was pleased to support Royal British Legion poppy collectors in Erewash. The poppy is a symbol of remembrance and is worn as a show of support for our Armed Forces community.
Maggie Throup, Member of Parliament for Erewash recently opened a new life-saving community defibrillator (AED) at the Seven Oaks Pub. This now means that there are close to fifty 24-7 easily accessible AEDS across Erewash.
It was great to join the British Liver Trust for the launch of their report Liver Cancer – A Call to Action. At the launch, I was proud to support the British Liver Trust’s calls to improve earlier diagnosis and outcomes for patients across the UK and in Erewash.
