The Government has added XL Bully type dogs to the list of breeds banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act.

It was great to join the British Liver Trust for the launch of their report Liver Cancer – A Call to Action. At the launch, I was proud to support the British Liver Trust’s calls to improve earlier diagnosis and outcomes for patients across the UK and in Erewash.

It’s been a busy few weeks in Parliament and across Erewash, so here’s a flavour of my recent activities as your Member of Parliament. 
 

Maggie Throup, Member of Parliament for Erewash is delighted with the news that the Government has decided not to ratify proposals to close railway ticket offices, including the one at Long Eaton Station.

I was delighted to pop along to Chaucer Infants and Nursery School in Ilkeston and open their new sensory garden.

Maggie Throup, Member of Parliament for Erewash has welcomed the arrival of the second Cost of Living payment worth £300.00 for 11,500 vulnerable and low-income households in Erewash from 31 October 2023, as part of the Government’s record £94 billion cost of living support package.

I was delighted to join Erewash Voluntary Action (EVA) for their celebration day. There were two fantastic milestones to commemorate – the Volunteer Centre reaching its 40th year and EVA itself amassing 25 years.

Time is running out to claim your free Halloween ‘No Trick or Treat’ Card. These cards kindly request trick-or-treaters not to call at homes displaying the card, allowing Erewash residents to decide whether they wish to partake in Halloween activities or not.
