As you will no doubt be aware, Parliament is shortly to dissolve in readiness for the General Election on Thursday 8th June. Consequently Maggie will cease to be the Member of Parliament for Erewash from 12.01am on Wednesday 3rd May 2017.
Maggie Throup, MP for Erewash, attended a thank you event in Parliament hosted by Anthony Nolan, in recognition of her support for the blood cancer charity’s successful campaign to fund a lifesaving treatment.
Responding to today’s announcement by the Prime Minister that she is to seek Parliamentary approval to hold a General Election on Thursday 8th June 2017, Maggie Throup, Member of Parliament for Erewash has released the following statement:
Just six weeks ago, Maggie Throup, Member of Parliament for Erewash asked the Prime Minister, Theresa May if she would authorise the commissioning of a new treatment for stroke patients, mechanical thrombectomy.
Local MP Maggie Throup has spoken of her delight that Ilkeston’s new railway station is to finally open to the public this Sunday (2nd April 2017) and is encouraging local residents to join a welcoming party on the platform as the first train pulls in.
